Mazda CX-5 II generation restyling (2021-2023)

Mazda CX-5 II generation restyling (2021-2023)Mazda CX-5 in 2022 is represented by a restyled model of a compact crossover. The manufacturer impressed not only with the external changes of the updated 5-door SUV, but also with a full range of technological innovations and comfort systems. Now all models, regardless of configuration, have all-wheel drive.

The model has a modern futuristic design. Smooth body stripes emphasize the solidity and elegance of the 2023 Mazda CX-5. The wheel arches now have the same body color. The radiator grille has grown in size and received a glossy black finish with a three-dimensional structure. The rear and front bumpers have become smoother, emphasizing the dynamic character of the model. LED headlights add sophistication and modernity to the exterior.

In the cabin, the changes affected the comfort of the seats. The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is equipped with the MZD Connect multimedia system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Depending on the configuration, wireless charging is provided.

High-quality materials are used for the interior. The driver's comfort is ensured by a steering wheel located at a slight angle and armrests at a comfortable height.

The cabin has plenty of space for storing small items, such as in the door pockets, a tray on the center console and a removable shelf. The luggage compartment has a flat surface.

The front panel has a 10.3-inch multimedia screen. The volume controls are located below.

Engines

The restyled model is equipped with two engines, the efficiency of which is emphasized by the manufacturers. The base model has a 4-cylinder inline-four power unit with a displacement of 2.5 liters with a capacity of up to 187 horsepower. There is also a version with a 2.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 256 horsepower.

The powertrains are equipped with a 6-speed automatic. The 2023 Mazda CX-5 feels comfortable on city roads, as well as on bumps and winding roads.

Safety and comfort systems

Each version of the updated 2023 Mazda CX-5 received the maximum set of options and technologies. The developers have provided automatic emergency braking, pedestrian recognition, lane keeping control, adaptive cruise control, and blind spot monitoring.

The car has 19-inch wheels, adaptive high beams, heated and ventilated seats, and a surround view camera. For top models, a touch-sensitive trunk opening is available.

The general characteristics and technologies, as well as the engine system for the restyled model, allow it to compete with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Hyundai Tucson.
