Mazda CX-5 first generation (2011-2017)

Mazda CX 5 first generation (2011-2017) CX 5 is a compact five-door crossover with front or all-wheel drive. It was first introduced in 2011, which at that time became the main model in the Mazda car lineup.

The Skyactiv 1 technology was used in production for the first time. The car received a range of diesel and gasoline engines. No less attention is paid to external characteristics, safety and functionality.

Car design

The exterior of the Mazda CX-5 demonstrates dynamics and confidence. Optical architecture, body lines and the smallest elements convey confidence and energy even when stopped. Smooth lines, without sharp cuts, attract attention.

The radiator grille is quite massive with a chrome overlay, although it is hidden deep in the hood and complemented by tapered headlights.

The rear bumper merges with the body at the stern. The architecture of the luggage compartment stands out in the exterior.

Interior

The interior is dominated by a minimalist style. All lines and systems are located as comfortably as possible for the driver. The 7-inch multimedia display extends beyond the narrowed torpedo. A compact instrument panel is located below. The control of the car's systems is improved thanks to the multifunctional steering wheel.

Mazda CX-5 Technical Characteristics

The manufacturer has provided both gasoline and diesel engines. Under the hood is a 2-liter gasoline power unit that produces up to 165 horsepower. The model is also available with turbo diesel engines with a displacement of 2.2 liters and 2.5 liters and an output of 175 horses and 192 hp, respectively. The powertrains are mated to a 6-speed manual or automated transmission. The engine lineup has not changed after the restyling.

In 2014, a restyled first-generation model was presented. Changes affected the design of the radiator grille, mirrors, and improved wheel rims. The Mazda CX-5 is equipped with the MZD Connect multimedia system. In terms of technical features, the updated model has a sporty driving mode for the automatic transmission. The manufacturer has improved the optics and equipped the crossover with LED headlights.

Safety and comfort systems

The car has heated front seats, a full power package, and air conditioning as standard. Additionally, the model can be equipped with two-zone climate control, fog lights, and a multifunctional steering wheel. The audio system is represented by 4 speakers, the number of which increases depending on the configuration. Parking sensors and a rearview camera are optional.

Passenger and driver safety is ensured by front and side airbags, curtains, seat belts with tensioners and ISOFIX anchors. The Japanese crossover has SCBS (Safe City Braking), lane departure monitoring, front collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, and a blind spot scanner.
